Biography
I was born in a village in the heart of Provence (France) near the Verdon Gorges, and I deeply love its old stones, forest, fields and scents. Aged 22 I left France to live down-under, as we say in Australia, but I keep coming back to my hometown.

I was born an artist, I’ve been drawing since I could hold a pencil in my early childhood but I couldn’t fully engage with my art due to family pressure until recently.

As soon as I arrived in Melbourne I enrolled in short courses in single lens reflex photography (black & white and developing) - I worked as an amateur photographer for the French theatre company. I also took classes in drawing and oil painting until recently at Melbourne Studio of Arts.
From 2003 to 2005, I lived in the Paris region, and learnt porcelain painting (Sèvres technique) which I pursued until 2006. But most importantly, I came across watercolour and enrolled in a watercolour class with the French artist Marie-Ange Choupie, then with the Australian artist, Greg Allen, when back in Melbourne in 2006.
In 2017, I decided to solely dedicate myself to my art. I suddenly quit my stressful unfulfilling job as an academic to study an advanced diploma at La Trobe College of Arts and Design in Melbourne until December 2020.
It is in this stimulating artistic environment that I finally became a full-time artist.

I find beauty everywhere in nature, in old historical buildings but also in objects such as an old bicycle, or clothes, even worn-out, etc. Beauty is important to me. I particularly need beauty in this brutal and unsettling world where so much visual pollution prevails. I need beauty as spiritual nourishment. Beauty elevates us, it soothes us and helps us to focus on what is essential. Beauty and arts help us rise above the darkness of the world.

Like many artists, I love nature but I’m also concerned by how nature is being assaulted and misunderstood like never before to the point that our own survival as a species is endangered. I cannot remain indifferent when all forms of life, be animal or plants, are under threat. I use my art to some extent to promote the importance of preserving nature in addition to my involvement with environmental organisations.
